I had a customer call and said a lightning strike blew up the controller. I haven't been out yet to look at it but he said it's blown to pieces. They also lost the alarm system, TV's, computers, garage door openers, etc. He feels the sprinkler system is to blame because it has the most physical damage and thinks it came in through the field wiring and than through the transformer to the rest of the house. I've repaired quite a few systems due to lightning strikes but I never thought about it being the cause to fry other equipment. Is this even possible?
