I just bought a 2146 Cub Cadet with a 14HP Linamar engine on it.Any body have any experience with these engines. It runs good, starts easy and is very quite, course I only have 4 hrs on it.Looks like everything is easy to get to if I ever have to work on it.The email I got from MTD said they discontinued using these engines for ecormic(sp)reasons. On the Linamar website it shows that they put these engines(probably not mine)on lots different kinds of equipment.MTD doesn't make the 2146 anymore now its the 2166.All the Cubs I have looked at either had Briggs Stratton or Kohler on them.I picked this one cause I just like the way it looked, looks like everything is easy to get to if I ever have to work on it.How do these engines compare to the other ones?

I believe that is an Onan engine. It is a commercial engine for sure. It will run a long time. Don't worry.

The 14hp engine you have is a kubota designed engine built by linamar. Linamar bought onan about 2 years ago and parts are available from onan or cummins in most of the UNITED STATES!
