Do you guys edge from the lawn or from the sidewalk, street, etc.
Because personally i trim from the lawn so i can cut a nicer edge.

If I understand you correctly, I stand on the walkway and trim with the bottom of my spool pointing toward the grass. If I stand on the grass, I can;t really see the line I'm trying to stay down. Standing on the driveway or the paved surface lets me see what I am doing better.

Im ampredextrious. I can edge with a trimmer in nearly any way going forward, backward, Heck even with one arm tied behind my back. Sometimes there mite be a car parked rite near an edge you have to work around.

I stand on the driveway[I am left handed] unless the turf is lower than the walk, then I move to the grass and turn the trimmer over.

always on the grass inless theres an obstacle walking forwards. I use to walk backwards on the sidewalk untill lawngodgather showed me otherwise. IT took awhile to get the hang of it but it leaves a lot better edge.

i stand so the line spins into the grass so the grass clippings go into the grass and stay out of the driveway, sidewalk, flower bed, etc

Are you talking about edging with a string trimmer? Or just plain 'ole string trimming?

Buy a stick edger much faster and cleaner cut.

No joke, please buy a stick edger. It's the only way to go. You waste alot of line trimming with a string trimmer as well.
