Is there a rule of thumb for applying liquid fertilizer when rain is in the forcast? How many hours can you apply before rain ...8, 12, 24? I'm just getting started and need some help.

It gets applied with water as a carrier, it needs to be watered in, apply it in the rain if you want to. If you are using something that need foliar uptake, like a broadleaf herbicide, then say so. Otherwise, if wind is in check and the soil is ready, go do your thing.
