Hey guys, I was wondering if any landscapers take care of ball fields....I need help, I need to price a few fields for little league/babe ruth and I need to give them a price for doing the lines, a price for raking/dragging them, and a price for water removal/repair in the even of rain. Can anyone offer any help? the lining price i need with out materials, I can figure out how much the paint is.

    Thanks!

I know this is an old post but I'll comment anyway.

I take care of/supervise 3 softball fields. So the infields are completely skinned. We paint the lines on the turf and use chalk on the infields. Once you have it down, you can line the infield in 20-30 minutes. Add 10-15 minutes for the foul lines in the turf.

As far as raking/dragging, we use a machine that has a hard rake to loosen up the field on occasion. The broom gets used daily and depending on how hard the field was played the night before it takes about 25 minutes per field to machine broom. I just ordered a steel mesh drag to use this season as I think it will work better than the broom.

Add in some time for hand raking (not daily). Maybe 1 hour per week.

The softball leagues that play on my fields think they're the best ballplayers ever but really destroy the batters boxes. I'm not sure how your batters boxes/pitchers mounds are set up but they take the most work. I rebuild them at least every two years, but ended up doing it both last spring and at end of season with new bricks.
