Did anyone notice that Locke mower has been bought out? I also noticed that they don't make the Triplexes anymore. They only make a one reel mower now.

Theres still quite a few outfits in my area with at least on Locke Triplex one the back of the truck. If fact one company only uses Lockes here in Newport. Some people refuse to change.

There branching off into pull behind mowers. Both rotary and reel type. I hope it all works out for them. Id hate to see them go out of business. There like the Harley of mowers.

There a really old reel mower company. They made nothing but heavy duty commercial reel type mowers. Back before there were a lot of rotary mowers there was just reel types. Up here in Newport, all the commercial reel types were Locke mowers.

The brand name of the mower is Locke. Locke mower web site

Gravely/Ariens bought both Locke, and National Mower, some time back. I would imagine they are combining/rationalizing the lines so they do not have a lot of similar, overlaping products.

Locke Mowers were the best cutters. They were the mowers used at the Whitehouse in DC. My Locke cuts better then my Bobcats but lawn has to be shorter and flat. Also chains break often so you need to know how to fix often. But you can't beat those reels!!
