I am looking for a very basic inventory program for parts. I was hoping that I could use a microsoft word or works spreadsheet and have the program organize them by part number such as:

    10001 recoil spring
    10002 spark plug
    10003 muffler

I cant seem to find anyone that can tell me how to do this or whats out there that does not cost an arm and a leg. Like i said im just looking for something basic and simple that puts the parts in order by part number with area for some minimal info and quantity on hand. Searchability for part numbers would be a big bonus but not required.

Thanks for all your help, I hope im in the correct forum

I don't know if you have a droid phone or not but I have seen some really inexpensive apps for droid operating systems. They are inventory apps that are pretty simple to use and very user friendly. Many of the paid apps are like 99 cents or 2 dollars. There are probably some really good apps for iPhones if you have an iPhone.
