I am looking to buy a dethatcher before this fall. I have several overseeding jobs already lined up, so I want to make sure it is one with the ability to overseed as well as dethatch. I have no first hand experience with them, and was looking for recommendations on what you would get (or currently have) and why. Also what to stay away from.

Thanks in advance for the help.

I have the Ryan Mattaway Overseeder and dethatcher. It does everything in one pass and produces awesome results. The only down side is it is heavy but self propelled. It is the nicest unit I have found for walk behind.

Nobody else has any suggestions??? I have seen the Ryan, but at $5000, it seems like the highest priced around. I was also looking at the Billygoat, and Lesco models. Can anybody comment on the dual purpose funtionality of these machines, or would I be better off with 2 dedicated units?

Turfco has a slit seeder. Nice big wheels. Looks good from the video they send me. It is top on my list for this year.
