Lost an account after 25+ years

  1. Had the "circle" since my son was in diapers. He's 29 now.
It's a 1.19 acre circle of trees and grass surrounded by "upscale" houses. (Upscale for Wilmington)
They'd never upgrade. Wouldn't prune a limb. Limbs down to the ground. Each of the 13 houses own a little piece. So the association could never agree on anything.
I'm glad to see them go.

What's a long term client for all of you?

That is incredible to have an account for over 25 years! I have had some of the same clients to for over 6 years but that is nothing compared to you.

I have two that are now in their 22nd season. Both have moved, one of them has moved twice, and I mow his second house still for those owners.

This is the same guy that in 1984 ran over my brand new AGWAY weed wacker (bottom engine !) with his car that I had sitting in his flower garden.

Him or I will never forget that day!

We have a number of the same customers we started with 9 years ago. And a couple of them I have never met in all those years. Wouldn't know them if I passed them on the street. Oh well, as long as the checks keep coming, who cares?

I have 4 from 1994 2 from 1996. I have only lost 7 customers over the course of the years since 1994..1 from a dissagrement and the rest from moving out of state or to a condo.

here's a question for you long term guys... what did you start the price of their yards at, and what do you do them for now?
