I've seen on this site that a lot of guys talk about the size of lawns they mow. And it seems there are a lot in the 1/2-3/4 acre size, now are most talking about the entire lot, or just the amount of turf they are mowing, because in most cases there is a big difference

unless otherwise stated, I am referring to gross lot size.
others are referring to turf size. it does make things difficult.

I refer to gross lot size. So no I am not accually mowing a whole acre but a one acre lot minus the house, driveway, walkway, plantings, ect.

Sometimes both. I say acre lot when it is an acre or more. I say 10K & it is just grass. I don't think I have any actual grass areas less than 10K.

When I measure a lot for mowing, I take the whole size of the lot, house/beds included.

If it's for something like aeration, I'll cut it up into sections and subtract the non-turf areas.
