The following is an email that my wife forwarded to me this morning from her mom. I actually got a laugh from it..
Hey! I have forgotten to pass the word along - my neighbor - the
    >little Garrett boy cut my grass on Tuesday. He was itching to drive
    >the lawn mower and his dad didn't want him to cut the new grass that
    >has sprouted up. I told him to roll him over toward my grass and
    >I'd give him a bit of money. So, I don't need my regular yard boy
    >this week. Can you pass the word along?

toi which I replied....THAT LOWBALLIN SCRUB!! Tell her that the sweet taste of a cheap price is soon lost in the bitterness of poor quality and lack of service...THanks Envy!! I love that quote!!

Ummm, young neighborhood kid, cutting the little old lady next doors lawn with his dad's tractor makes him a low ballin' scrub? I got my start mowing my neighbors' lawn with my dad's Lawn Boy 21". Charged him $20 a week. It's how alot of kids earn some cash. Doesn't make them a scrub.

mom in law called last night to ask if her "regular" yard boy would be able to mow her grass this week. i replied, "what happened to little johnny next door? he gone to camp this week?"

Isn't that what you guys keep saying about the lowballers, they can't make enough $ to stay in business so the customers come groveling back!! One week seems a bit premature to give up thought.

funny thing in this is that this was YOUR mom-in-law right?

I couldn't have said it better myself. I also started with a 21", mowing my grandma's yard, I think I charged $20-$25 each time. Some of these guys on here must forget how they started.
