    Lx188 John Deere

Need some help with Lx188 John Deere with 17hp Kawasaki. Engine shuts off when engaging the blades. All safeties are disconnected and jumped. The clutch will engage and the engine will run without the blade drive belt on the clutch. Install the belt and the engine quits. Engine runs great. Could the module on the ignition switch cause the engine to shut down??? Any advice or input appreciated.[/

I would quess that something from the drive belt clutch to a bent blade or deck is causing the engine to stall out since it does fine with out the belt on it, maybe a spindle is seized

Thanks to everyone for the help.
Neighbor had borrowed mower and replaced tbe main drive belt from the engine to the deck with an after market belt, the original belt is 64.8 inches and it was replaced with a 64 inch belt. R & R belt works like new...
