I was just mulling over mower prices.

Picked up a 48/24 Vantage a couple weeks ago. Price OTD 7900 bucks plus some $125 fee for the promotion(48 months at 0% APR).

    Same time in 2008 I bought a 60/28 Lazer Z AS for... $7900 OTD.

More steel, bigger tires, bigger motor, bigger pumps and wheel motors, heavier duty clutch, bigger battery, ROPS, etc etc.... But the same price?

Where's the cost difference? I realize we're talking 2 years here but damn.... Steel has dropped like a stone... It's not like Exmark has a lot of development and engineering costs into the Vantage:rolleyes:

I would guess that the vanatage is in high demand right now with it being a new product, and with demand comes price raise. It is as simple as the demand-pull theory of inflation.
