Looking at a 36" Metro for 1600 tomorrow- has 16 hp kawi and ECS, owner says less than 100 hrs, we'll see. Looks decent in the pics. What do you guys think? my only hold up is that I could also get a TT hydro for only 900 more.

Get the hydro if you can. The metro is a great mower, but hydro is nicer. Now if you could get it for a grand I would say, buy the metro and work the heck out it this season and buy a real good hydro for next season keeping the metro for a back up.

He's already come down from 2250 on the metro so I don't think i'll get him much lower.

I think your going to be alot happier spending a little more on the hydro.

I've been watching a few others on CL over the past few months. Seems most of them have been going for closer to 1200 or 1000 for a belt drive. I picked up a 36" Scag walk behind 3 weeks ago for 1000 even. it's belt drive and it's in GREAT condition besides needing a tune up and some adjustments.....

the price your guy is asking might be reasonable if it's in "like new" condition with extrmemly low hours.

    Hope that helps.

Age has a lot to do with price. I've seen old wore out put away wet ones sell for 1300-1500 and nice ones in that range. Timing also has some to do with it. Come mid to end of march mowers will sell fast and into April. Once may hits its over. If you need to sell then, expect a low price and long wait.
