We've had tanks installed at our yard for the past two years & serviced by Corrigan Oil. The tanks are provided free from your wholesale provider. You do get wholesale rates, but not as low as the service stations that are buying thousands of gallons at a time. The price is volatile with daily changes, so its hard to get a perfect comparison, but it does seem to run a few pennies less per gallon than retail price at the pump -- probably no more than 5c per gallon savings. The real savings is in crew time -- we can have one guy filling up while the other is grabbing tools & work orders. Plus, no more 20 minute "fill up" breaks at the service station. The downside is increased opportunity for theft -- you would be smart to put a security camera on your pumps to make sure no one is topping off their car for free.

    That's our secret..... :)
Been sending letters and making phone calls
Made one phone call to a customer today and found out his neighbour who I cut too was unhappy with something last year. First I heard of it, how can I make something right if I don't know about it.

Commercials are done. I got 6 of them and that's good for me, I will be doing FF/ Emt classes in the summer. So I would like to pass that.
Residentials; people around here don't want bids till April.

Will, I know what you mean by people not telling you they are upset. I usually find out when I don't vet my payment at the end of the month.

The term "bid" is over used by poor business owners. I don't "bid" on work. if you want to compair my price against 10 other guys that don't run on my level than I won't waste my time providing you a "bid". If you figured out who the best of the best is by seeing our work or listening to your neighbors praise us then I'm your guy. I will give you a fair rate for the booth of us up front, no haggle no b.s to cut out. Maybe you young guns should stop worrying about "bidding" on work and worry about building a sustainable profitable business.

For the guys that say "commercial jobs will only take bids, they have no loyalty" I disagree. You havnt given them a reason to be loyal to you. I will.
