My account is big on BNI. He keeps trying to get me to become a member of their group. I attended one their meeting last spring and though that it might work if you put in the time and effort. My biggest problem was the day they meet. Its Thursdays at 7 in the morning. Really doesnt work good for me because thats my biggest day. And the attendence policy would be hard to meet in the winter concidering the storms we've gotten this winter.

Right now 90% of our sales revenue is made up of business from word of mouth from past customers, family, friends....next to that is probably just cold calling or going door to door at business...then just door flyers at residentials

3 years ago we spent about $10,000 on advertising....mainly the direct mailers and ads in coupon books and it was pobably the worst business decision i have ever made....but you live and learn

Thanks for the info Five Star. I guess it is time to start walking door to door and see what happens. I have 6000 door hangers and flyers ready to go, I m waiting for the weather to break.

I agree.. door to door flyers usually have a good yield

I am kindof feeling the same way, but I don't really care about not having many referrals for the other members.. I keep the plumber and the electrician busy.

Can anyone give some more info on BNI? I poked around on the website to look at the local chapters and there are a bunch around me.

    can you only join one?
if you can only join one how do you go about figuring which chapter would be the best?
can I sign up under landscape even though i only do sprinklers and lighting and share the account with a landscaper so that we can try to bring more leads to them and alternate weeks we go?

    any other insight about BNI?
