well my 36 lost compression, it might need a new motor, but i took it to the shop and hes gonna tell me, and if it needs a new motor, i will probably just have my father rebuild it for me if he has time. or i might just put a new motor on it. it has a kolher on it now, i was thinking of putting a 17hp kawa on it. would the 17 be over kill for it?

    or

could i swap the 14hp off my 48 and put it on my 36 and buy a 19hp kawa and put it on my 48?

    would that be possible?

I don't think a 17 HP motor on a 36" would be overkill. I've got a 15 HP on a 36" Hydro machine and it seems to do the job nicely, but more power never hurts!

i picked the 36 up for $300, so i mean, if i can get it fixed for a few hundo, i would be fine with that... also, how much would a new 17hp or 19hp cost me?
