A new purchase in 2004 will be a Exmark 36 WB. Anyone using the (Metro HP) floating belt-drives? Seems to be kinda rare....
For that matter, what about the (Viking Hydro) fixed Hydro?

Do hydros (any make) require more maintenance or experience more down time? I'm thinking I can repair most belt drive repairs.

What makes a "great cut"? Some say Walker, other Exmark, etc. How do you "see" or "define" a great cut? Don't sharp blades do about the same on all rigs?

Finally, I see some guys blow driveway edge clippings and leaves out into the street. If it is not much, it doesn't seem too bad, but where do you draw the line? What do most of you folks do.
I plan to sweep up the big stuff and trash can it, blow to rest out onto the street....

    Mucho thank yous...

Deck design has a lot to do with the quality of cut.

Also, not sure why you'd want to pick up clippings from driveways, etc., and I certainly don't see why you'd want to blow them into the street (never!).
You simply blow it ALL grass clippings back onto the lawn.
