Model Names and Numbers

    Some companies such as exmark, their models are self explanitory, have the deck size, HP, and engine model in the model. Where do companies like TORO get theirs from. The Z440, I don't see where that came from. Just using that as an example.

    Yeah, that is an interesting question. The 500 series is the large-frame ZTR's and the 400 series is the compact ZTR's. But from there, the 440 isn't a 40" deck or 40HP engines. The 450 isn't a 50" deck or a 50HP engine. It seems like you would want self-explanitory model numbers. I would like to understand where they get those numbers.

    Dixie Chopper also has straight forward model numbers so you know HP and deck size right away. I just think that makes it easier, but what do I know...
