we have mosquitoes around our carport...alot of shade but not really any standing water. we have a bird bath in the front yard (no water in it)...should we move that close to the carport to try and trap/trick the mosquitoes, so that it will kill their larvae?

or will that just create more adult mosquitoes around that area?

There are some sprays out there that contain essential oils like Neem, cedar, oregano, etc that keep those guys away, they are becoming more popular and may be at the hardware store.

They also jave mosquito dunks that you can put in areas with standing water, the donut or dunk is empreganted with a strain bacillus thurengensis that does not allow the larvae to grow and they die off before becoming adults. It will not affect the adults though

we have a 1/2 wine barrel pond that we keep feeder fish(gold fish) in and that works really well, it is almost bearable to go out a dusk.

also try and find lemongrass for sale on the Internet, that is a real help also.......

yeah i forgot on it that we have the dunks...that's what i meant by putting the bird bath back there and putting water in it with the dunk. will that just add more adults to the area?

It should not add more adults, but the ones that are there will still be there, gold fish are not hurt by the dunks.

if you put some 35 cent gold fish in the water they will eat the adults, waly world has them for 27 cents some times, you only need 2-3 in a bird bath
