motor and speed help.

    my dad was asking today about motors and i didnt know but told him i could find out!lets say you have a 19hp ridding lawnmower and a 19hp zrt mower,both have a 48'' deck.why or how is the zrt much faster and how much faster is it,i know they all are different speeds.

    You can make anything go faster if you set the pulley sizes up differently. Thats how those good ole boys make a garden tractor do 60. The garden tractors have cheaper hydros with pulleys set to reduce the speed to a manageable MPH usually 6 or so. The bigger Z's are for lack of a better word "geared" with different pulleys that make things spin faster and then you go faster. Also the wheel motors are bigger and tougher on the Z's.
    With the motor output being the same you can make anything very fast with the right pulley combination.
