I've been asked to move a truck from our headquarters 500 miles north to upper Michigan. I'm wondering what a fair mileage rate is for the haul.... What do the commercial haulers charge per mile for hauling one piece of equipment? Thanks.

Going rate right now is around $1.50/loaded mile for short to medium hauls, by the guys who haul 3 or 4 cars/load. On longer hauls, say about 1000 miles, the rate goes lower, to around $1.00/loaded mile.
When hauling just one vehicle with my car hauler trailer, I find that about
$.75/loaded mile is a break even point.
