What is the best piece of equipment that I could rent to move bulk OR bagged mulch?

12 yards isn't that much, and if you've got laborers then it should only take half a day.

Just use wheelbarrows. Get the large two wheel models that hold a lot of mulch.

Me and my brother can move and spread 15 yards of mulch in about 9 hours.

Dual-wheel wheel barrows and pitch forks. Large sites a tracked skid or even a gator/workman work well.
