I am going to buy a 44 inch dixie chopper tomorrow. They have it listed at 7499.00 but said they would come down to 7200 and then finally at 7000.00

Is this a good deal or is there more room to negotiate? How much is the norm to get off on a new mower? Thanks

Is it last year's model or even older? I know a dealer with a mower in the showroom going on 3 years now. Every so often the price drops again.

50" Dixie Silver Eagle series with 25hp Generac in Fairfax Oklahoma is $6,200 as of 3 weeks ago. Their 44" was $5,600.

    Thats a deal.

Is that the newest model? I think the one I am looking at has the 27hp generac.

    thanks

Well the dixie catalog shows the 50 inch with the 25hp koehler. And the 44 and the other 50 inch with 27 hp. They dont have a 25 generac. You sure it had the generac?

Cause thats alot cheaper then down here. I will have to use that to negotiate tomorrow if its the same mower.

It was Koehler. 25hp Sorry about that. They also had an Excalibar 66" with 33 Generac, power deck lift, for $9,999. 08 model, teardrop deck.

    thats correct prices then.

The koehler in the 44 is the same price as the 34 in with the generac.

Do you have experience with either? Is 25hp plenty on a 44? Thanks

No experience with D.C. other than a demo. They seem like good machines. I would say 25hp on a 44" deck is borderline overkill. I have a 60" on my Bad Boy with a 26hp Kawisaki and it's hard to bog it down. On a 44" I would think it would be very very hard.
