I have a 52" hustler z that has slowed down dramatically in the past couple weeks. The problem is only with one of the pumps. If I place both steering arms fully forward I would actually go in a big circle. I have tried to adjust the arms, but it has not helped the problem at all. Also there seems to be a lot of play in the bracket that links the pump to the steering arm. Any ideas?

It sounds like your pump arm brackets are loose.
How old is this mower? we updated the pump arms 4 years ago I think.
Anyways, if it is newer than that, just tighten up the bolt that is on the bottom of the pump arm.

Thanks for the quick response, the z is almost 2 years old. I'll try to tighten the bracket first thing in the morning....Thanks!

    Ok.
It's likely just a loose pump arm.
Another thing is to check the arm and shaft to make sure there is no wear from it being loose, if that was the case.
