Hi Guys, been a long time gone, it's nice to come back to this
site and find the quality still here. Here's my problem: I run with
two JD LX-266 tractors w/ 48" decks. Even after I balance the
decks, I find that I'm tearing out the grass with the deck guide
wheels when I encircle trees, bushes, etc. while mowing. The
guide wheels are not the caster-type, they don't swivel, and
therefore unless I'm mowing in a straight line they tend to
scrape. Anyone else have this problem and short of installing
caster-type wheels, is there a solution?

That, or raise them up more I would think.

I know exactly what you are saying. Before I got into this business, I owned a JD 160 (or 180 can't remember) that I used on my farm. I used to have to steer with my left hand and have my right hand on the lever that would raise and lower the deck. Needless to say, that unit is not part of my biz operations.
