I have been mowing for a year now, can some give me the technique to create one large strip then one small. I see lco's using this type design all the time but i just can figure out how to do it. I never see anyone out in the field that i could ask so could you guys reveal the secret to me?

sounds like they dont use the whole mower deck when cutting
you make your first stripe and then come back overlapping. thats what it sounds like to me

I assume the lawns you are seeing with this design are being cut with a side discharge deck. I start on left side of property. Make first cut a full width cut blowing the clippings into the standing grass. On the revers cut only take a half deck cut. This eliminates a lot of clippings on the cut area and gives you the wide - narrow design. If the grass is tall it will cause you problems as you gain a build up of clippings in the uncut grass.
