We pay about $26 a yard for shredded cedar mulch. It takes 2 guys about 1hr to do 3 yards. That brings us to $46 a yard installed. How does this sound to you guys?

    $26 - mulch (your cost)
$20 - ($10 an hour for two men)

Uhm, where is the profit $$$ in this equasion?

Is the mulch already on site or did you have to take your time and use your vehicle to go pick it up?

Also, did you ever hear of marking up a product for resale?

For me, a yard of $26 mulch just became $45 yard to the customer, installation is extra at $90 hour for 2 men.
For a job as small as 3 yards, I would just flat rate it at $75 per yard delivered and installed or $225.

  3. I charge $75.00 a yard for the first three yards and then $60.00 a yard thereafter, that includes the price of the product and labor.

dude 2 guys 3 hrs to move 1 yard that is apsolutly rediculuos. Those guys must be really slow. On my crew 2 guys can do 5 yards in 1 hour. 350 for 5 yards of mulch cost me 20 dollars a yard so 100 for mulch and 30 for my help i make 220 dollars in about an hour.
