I have a question for the applicators out there. Have any of you noticed a difference in quantities of weeds on treated properties that are mulched when compared to collected clipping? The reason I ask is that I have. We are finding weeds in much greater numbers on lawns that are commercially mulch mowed. My theory is that these companies are dropping weed seeds from their mower decks on the turf due to the fact they're using the same equipment to mow untreated turf. Any thoughts?

I would think mulching would give more weeds than bagging if your not treating the lawn.Your just spreading seeds by mulching weeds on untreated lawns.

I'd agree, but a proper pre-emergent should prevent weeds, additional seedheads from mowing or not. The problem is the chance of weeds is greater, especially if your trimming dollars by going thin on pre-emergent. dave g
