I recently created a new bed and planted a small dogwood tree and surrounded the tree with rose bushes. I used top soil and peat moss when planting and then mulched. I also have some weed block in the bed. When I water the tree and other bushes around I have a runoff water on the edge and spills into the grass. Is it getting to the roots or just running off? My dogwood has some curled leaves and the tips are yellowish red. Please let me know what you think. Thanks

Did you use lawn fabric or some type of treatment? If you used fabric did you cut enough fabric away from the base of the tree? If the fabric goes right up to the trunk the water might just be running down on top of the fabric.

Did you plant the tree exactly how the nursery you bought it from told you, depth, time of year, sunlight, fertilizing, etc..

Yesterday I poked holes throughout the fabric with a shovel just in case that was the problem. Thanks

Morning and some afternoon sun-shade in the late afternoon/evening
Time of year was not great-3 weeks ago but they thought it would be fine

Did the ball come wrapped in burlap? If so what was done with said burlap?
