Mulching Question

    I HAVE A CUSTOMER WHOM WANTS TO PUT MULCH ON HIS FLOWER BED.
    IT IS 9' X 155' WITH METAL EDGING AND SOME COVERED WITH BURMUDA GRASS.

    MY QUESTIONS ARE.....
    1. HOW MUCH OF MULCH DO I NEED?
    2. WHAT SHOULD I DO WITH GRASS ON FLOWER BED.
    3. WHAT IS AVERAGE RATE THAT I SHOULD CHARGE TO MY CUSTOMER?

    HELP.:confused:

    $60/YARD..... IS IT WITH LABOR COST?

    Yes that is for labor and materials, sometimes 65. I usually use the bags, because its a lot easier and quicker, and no mess to clean up in the the trailer and customers yard.

    If I were you, insted on using weed killer, I would use a flat shovel to take up the grass, then put down the mulch. The weed killer may also kill the future flowers in that bed.

    Weed Killer?


    use a non selective herbicide like Round-up as long as you are certified for pesticides.

    I figure it at 13 yards not 9. At 60.00 a yard installed it's 780.00

    For my company if mulch is less than 5 miles away, charge would be about 575.00 figuring 14 yards( I always adjust high )Installed...Chuck

    You are right. it is 13 yards. i was in a hurry yesterday.

    60 yard how much are yall paying for brown mulch it is like 30 here including delivery then i charge 40 on top of that so i figure 70 a yard if beds are cleaned how many yards to yall put down in an hour per man

    77.5 cu ft is you're covering one inch, or 155 cu ft if you're covering 2 inches deep. 17 yards is covering 2 inches deep.
