So i have a chance to bid on 9 apartment complexes for one management company. I am trying to make sure i put in a competitive bid. I already cut one 3000+ a month apartment as well as a smaller 500+ month apartment. We handle both of these in one day. The following list is how many building they have and how long i figure our 8-man crew can do them would like a few ideas on prices or how much of a discount i should put on the bid because of doing 9 for the same company...

    1. 13 Bldgs- 4 Hrs
    2. 36 Bldgs- 10 Hrs
    3. 27 Bldgs- 8 Hrs
    4. 19 Bldgs- 8 Hrs
    5. 5 Bldgs- 2 Hrs
    6. 18 Bldgs- 4 Hrs
    7. 17 Bldgs- 4 Hrs
    8. 60 Bldgs- 16 Hrs
    9. 24 Bldgs- 8 Hrs

Total of 64 Hours each cut
    32 Cut maximum
We also have to trim the bushes 3 times a year and install pinestraw twice, i am charging $150 per hour it will take us extra, is that fair for an 8 man crew?

any ideas or suggestions would be appreciated...also any suggestions on mowers...hot sure to go with riders, walk-behinds, or standers...?
    Thanks

I don't have a clue how anyone here could answer this for you.

$150/hour for an 8 man crew? Fair? Holy cow......This is the reason I decline these kinds of jobs.

Edit** Just for S&G's, what does that 8 man crew cost you/hr.? Are you including EVERYTHING in your cost/MH calc.?

  4. sounds like you have it figured out.

So you leave $20 for gas? How do you pay for WC insurance, SS and the tons of other expenses it takes to run a legit business if you have 8 employee's and are only charging $150hr?

Just curious, if you get all of these, are you going to cut for 64 hours a week plus the other two complexes which will total about 72 hours a week with one crew?
