Recently contacted by the town to mow approximately 4 acres of grass in one area. Minimal weedwhacking, but quite a bit of grass. I can discharge it without a problem. I was figuring it will take 2 men about 2 hours to mow the grass with 2, 52" Wright Standers? What would you charge for this project? I was thinking $200......too much, too little, your input?

Your cost of doing business per hour plus the profit margin that you need to make above that. Both figures of whic only YOU know.

4 man hours to mow and trim only 4 acres of grass? Somebody's milkin' the clock IMO.

I did 17 acres, spread out (2.5 miles of road) with a 52 inch stander,a 56 inch walker (this one is slow) and one guy trimming the spots we couldn't get with the mower and it took us just over 6 hours.

I was thinking my foremans estimate on time was a bit high too, I will double check tomorrow. What would you bid the job at?

Well, since it's for the town, if ya got $150, you'd be doing well IMO.
