    Hello everyone,

What causes mushrooms other than fairy rings, and what can be use to treat that area.

sgtm - mushrooms are the fruiting bodies of fungi feeding on organic material in the soil below. If you dig below the mushrooms, you'll likely find an old piece of lumber or tree root. Remove the wood, and mushrooms will disappear. Chemical controls will seldom work.

I wouldn't be too concerned about them, unless, like you said there are in fairy rings. Just whack them down when you mow. Usually they only "pop up" in wet weather. (Wet weather? what's that? lol)

sgtm .....you can try a product called Prostar. Prostar works best when sprayed in early spring.
