I need one of those thats great.
I have the bolts tightened just enough to hold it in place when up or down.
Still using this today with the same piece of metal too. It is a little beat up but works great. Now I can't use a mower without an OCDC. Not as nice as a factory unit like on our Dixie Chopper but it gets the job done.
I wouldn't worry about making it go up any higher. just like mowing with a factory discharge chute which we all should be doing for the safety and liability reasons.
nice job man!!!!
Thanks. After using it for 2 years it works great as it is. I don't need it to go any higher. Really nice being able to close it when around mulch beds, parking lots, sidewalks or when people or cars are going by.
Once used one its hard mow with out one. My first one came on my 1995 DC
Running OCDC on my mowers It helps get certain jobs. I show my New customers the safety feature of the OCDC or mowing around mulch trees I never get grass clippings in the mulch.
I always wonder how many times I open and close it in days time. I need a counter on it lol
Here is the one I made last fall.
I seen yours on another thread. Very nice. It's nicer than my mower lol.
Thanks Greg78. Your blocker is just fine and will serve you well.
So in the past month my handle broke 2 times after welding it the first time it broke days later. Welded it again and it's fine but after using our Dixie Chopper Classic with oem OCDC decided I wanted something a litttle more refined so I went with The Director OCDC. Put it on yesterday and mowed my whole prorperty and it's just as good as the Dixie's now.
