Depends on what it is and how mechanically inclined a person is. The first thing I did with my very first mower was, go over the entire thing and checked, measured and adjusted EVERYTHING on the mower so "I" knew it was right. You're doing it backwards. Always get the air pressure set FIRST, then adjust the linkage rods to track straight. It doesn't matter if the rod adjustments are different as long as it tracks straight when both pistols/levers are pulled/pushed all the way in the same direction.
