My shop and equiptment, work

    While there is still snow around my one worker and I have been staying busy working at our shop cutting down dead trees and cleaning up unwanted brush trees, etc. We have a big burn pit to burn our brush which helps.

    We sold all our dry firewood, so we are in process of cutting wood to sell for next winter. I hoping to have 70-100 cords seasoned and ready in stock my mid summer. That will be a nice bank account for the off season. Today we got a load of logs in that I bought to help us get started. I am also thinking about getting into the wood pellet buisiness next winter as well seeing they are a hot item this winter.

    Here's a pic of shop #1 at our site. This week we are going to start our add on addition to the back of the building for more storage. We had to cut down a few trees to make room behind the shop, we also marked our holes that we will dig for posts on monday. I'm excited for this project because after that is done we are going to build and tie in more landscape bins into the building making a large L shaped structure of 2 shop building and landscape bins between them. Will have pics through out the week of our progress.

    We went to a local landscape contractor show held by our local landscape supply center that they have every year this week. It was fun, lots of good class's on new products and trends in the landscape and hardscape industry and also good motivational and buisness class's. They had vendors there showing equiptment, free food and give away's, and also it's allways fun to talk to the fellow landscape contractors in our area. They also had a landscape contractor named bill cardokli from interstate landscaping from new hampshire that came down and did some very enjoyable buisiness seminars that I learned alot of valuable info from him. If you get a chance look up some of his awesome videos on youtube, interstae landscaping and or look up bobcat ninja. Here's a couple pics from the show.

    What all goes into pellets? I have a friend selling 100+ cords a winter. Might not be a bad idea

    Pretty easy buisiness, just buy the pellets in bulk by the tractor trailor load, and re sell either by the bag or skid and we would also offer deliverey as well. It will probaly be a little like firewood sales, just alittle extra income also, but I figure lumping the firewood with the pellets would generate a stable income for the buisness as well as the snow buisiness. Winter might end up better than summer lol. Here in our area all the local pellets dealers and the big box stores are all out of stock, so they are in demand here. Thanks!

    here's a couple pics of us starting our addition on to the back of the shop. We used a auger to dig the holes and we picked up our lumber to get us started tomorrow.
