I like to pay cash for my vehicles also, even the personal cars for the wife and me. You can find used F250's for a lot less than they were new, especially with diesel prices going up again. I bought my 2002 F250 Crew Cab Lariat with a 7.3 a couple of years ago when diesel was high for $14,900. It had 156k on it but was in great shape. I'm about to roll over the 200k mark with no signs of it slowing down anytime soon. All of my fleet vehicles (Rangers and Econolines) have over 200k on them as well. With modern vehicles, if you take care of them and are proactive about maintenance, they will last a LONG time. I spend about $1k/yr per fleet vehicle in maintenance and repairs but that's a whole lot less than it would cost to be running newer vehicles with payments.
  4. I thought it was kind of clever. Lot in that sentence. Even the three dots after the one serving as a beautifully timed pregnant pause emphasize a brilliant satiric sentence. No need for a smiley on that one. We have a Ricky Gervais clone as an irrigator.

We have a '97 F150 that has 225k+, still moving along well. I want to get another vehicle to replace it, but I want to keep it as a spare or for a new employee if I get one. This truck is driven by tech #1 who gets the most work done. A few issues with it, but nothing major, except for hitting a light post base, and a drunk driver hitting it.

I sold my '96 GMC 1500 a year ago to an employee. 225+k on it. But it was also a money pit. Replaced transmission twice, and many other repairs.

Even though my '05 Titan is running smooth at 95k, I want to upgrade it in a year or two. I don't want to run it until the wheels fall off, or have it turn into a money pit and strand me on the side of the road.

Any preference on the brand of bed slide? I could use one of them on my '07 Chevy with the 5.5 ft. box.. Not a lot of bed space but a slide would help a bunch.

No surprise there. He ripped a page right out of your book of Internet Forum Responses For 6th Graders.
