name this weed (PICS)

    Please help me ID this weed...I'm still fairly new to squirt and fert and I want to make sure that I I.D. and treat this weed properly... the weed is much higher than the lawn it is invading. Thanks again for any suggestions

    Best guess without any other info = quackgrass.

    The lower stem looks flattened--my vote goes to orchard grass. Light green? In clumps? Rhizomes--yes or no?

    From your pics i, too would vote for orchard grass. :waving::waving:

    I'm seeing flat stems so I will also vote Orchardgrass. No selective controls.

    There IS a selective control. Let the orchardgrass grow taller than the lawn, then use a wick wiper with roundup. Cutting right for a couple of seasons should also gradually get it out of the lawn (cultural control).:cool2:

    DiyDave, thanks i will try that wick wiper technique...have you had good luck with them in the past?? and what did you mean by cutting right for a couple seasons?? thanks again...
