OBX is getting crispy, the heat a few weeks back was really rough on any turf near the road.

Starting too? Hell, my lawn is extra crispy in most places. I have lawns I cut two weeks ago that haven't grown an inch.

I'm just glad this isn't my primary source of income. I feel for the folks on this website for whom it is their "mortgage and meal" money...

OBX Fescue is patchy yellow - fescue has poor drought tolerance. Bermuda is doing well so far, but if this continues, who knows. Got a good rain the other day, but hard and fast I don't think is going to do a whole lot. I'd go to bermuda, but the fescue starts early and gets us those early spring cuts.

Up here in western NC still growing some , but our temps. only reach 80's maybe 90 a day or so in August. I'm afraid if we don't get a little rain we'll have to start 10 day cuttings.Today our high was in the low 70's.:clapping:

It's extra dry and crispy here in East Carolina too. The 8 days at or above 100 burned everything up except for Bahia.

I've had no rain since June 2 (.44") and no significant rain since May 21 (.95"). The last time we got over an inch at one time was May 5 when we got 1.45".

This year is way worse than last year. Things weren't this dry until August last year.
