Hey guys, we are trying to get into pavers this year. We are planning on taking the ICPI cert, but haven't been able to yet. I am pretty familiar with the whole thing, and we have a guy who will be working with us that day who has been doing it for 5 years.

Anyway, I am looking for some pointers and pricing help. I am unsure as to which paver he will be using, but I am basing my pricing on 5.00 a square foot for pavers (the high end) so I can give him a worse case price and lower it if need be depending on the price of the paver he chooses.

The patio area is 15x20 and from what I understand you dig down 7" lay 4" of stone and compact it then a 1.5" layer of sand. So I assume I need to get the stone base level with the grade I want. How easy is this to do? Seems it would be a bit tricky?

I also see some landscapers install a fabric under the base, is this necessary?

What kind of price do you guys charge for a 15x20 with roughly a $5.00 per square foot block?

    Thanks man!
