I have a cage that I use to put tools in at the front of my trailer and want to add gas shocks to lift the door and to keep open. The door is 2x6 made out of angle and expanded metal. Where can I find gas shocks for it? Will regular gas shocks that are used to lift the back of suvs lift gates etc. work? How big do I need?

Heck yeah. Just go to your local auto parts store. I would get the kind for something like a camaro trunk lid. You will have to fab up some mounts forthe shocks but it shouldn't be too hard. Post some pics when you do it.

    Go to:

Type in "Gas Springs" in the search box.

They have a selection guide and many different gas springs to choose from.

    Good Luck.
