I need a shrub that I can grow into a solid hedge. Area is about 90ft. long. Customer wants it to be maintained at about chest height. I can get China Girl Holly, Wintergem Boxwood, Arbrovite Emeral Green, Koren Spice Vibernum, Juddi Vibernum. The area is clay full sun. What is a good one to use. I don't want to replace dead ones. Wouldn't the vibernum grow the fastest.

Yes, vibernum most likely will grow the quickest then arbs, holly and boxwood. I think the order of most appealing would be w. boxwood, holly, arbs, vibernum. I would use winter gem, plant them correctly and you should not have a problem.

How about good old fashioned Privet? You can't kill a privet even if you tried. Plus they could use a good trimming twice a year (cha ching!). Also English and Schip Laurels are nice.
