I am desperately trying to replace the pull starter on my Lawnboy walk-behind and am having no luck. I think I understand the concept, but have a few questions. Anyone that can help me?

I'm not sure if I can answer your question, but it would help if you were more specific about where you are stuck. You probably won't get many replies if you aren't more specific.

What are your questions? What model Lawn-Boy do you have?

    you must remove plastic cover
    drill out rivets.
    remove pull start.
either replace cord by turning starter pulley until it stops (creates tension on pulley) and use a screwdriver and put through pulley to hold it from unwinding.
put new cord through and tie a knot pull real tight so knot doesn't come undone.
    hold pulley and remove screwdriver.
let pulley draw in new cord.
DON'T LET CORD GO ALL THE WAY IN!!!
slip Cord through handle and tie knot.
Put back on mower as it came off and re-rivet using proper size rivets.
    I used 3/16" dia. x 1/4 long rivets.
    Hope this helps.Good luck.
