New to bus. and would appreciate any advice you guys can give on what you use as a per hour labor $$ when you are doing estimates. Do you show you show your materials cost on estimates? w or w/o some markup? What about shrub install? A guy the other day told me he doubles price of shrub + $5-$10 per hole. I would like to come up with a "standard" to use instead of the "shoot from the hip" method I have been using. I appreciate any help you can give.

What you need to first find out is how much it costs you per hour to run your business. Then figure out the profit that you want to make. After that you will have a better idea of the hourly or service rate to charge

    I agree with Tie.
The hardest thing that you will learn when starting this type of business. They are no 10 minute jobs. Something that you think will take 10 minutes can turn into an hour or two.

Second. Do not be afraid to charge enough to do the job to where you can operate and turn a profit.
