i just put a new engine to deck belt on my 2001 44" toro walkbehind. there is way too much vibration on the deck and the engine. can this happen if the belt is to tight?the belt is routed right and the idler and spring are on right. what could be the problem?

Sounds like the belt is too tight, also did you check the motor mounting bolts underneath? All of our Toro WB's have had engine mounting bolts back off at one time or another. Was there any vibration at all before you swapped the belt?

motor mounting bolts are tight. the belt before this one was the original from the factory and there was no vibration. where do you get your belts from?do you let your dealer do the repairs?

make sure the belt has about a 1/2 inch of play

so would the belt being to tight make it vibrate?

does it smoke when you engage it? If it does, then it is probably too tight

go to a dealer that specializes in toro to get the correct belt. They might even be able to help you with your problem
