Need input on this bid price

    This is at my cost, the labor is what I charge

    to plant

    187 trees 12-14'
    826 brushes
    998 perennials
    3500 4" pots ground cover
    125,000 sq ft hydroseeding
    140 yds of 1-2: stones
    113 yards of mulch
    1500 linear ft of edging
    $ 44,211.00
    rent hotel/food/rental equipment
    repairs/trucking $ 17700.00
    labor 5 people/$50 an hr/x 250 hrs $ 62500.00
    -------------
    $ 124,411.00

    I was thinking I would bid $ 175,000 what is your thought, top soil is provided along with final grading

    Wow, nice large job. Is that 250 total man hour? seems a little low to me. Any subing or you handling it all?

    Oh heck, I see you are charging 1250 total hour. Thats more like it. Before I figured that out I thought you were REAL fast

    You are correct in the 1250 hours... wanted to make sure with some help from you fellows that I was in the ball park figure with the $175,000

    I don't think you have offered enough details to cover the extra 50,000
    I would also wonder why the trucking repairs is so high.

    the $17,700 includes hotel room for the 5 crew members, food allowance,
    rental of equiptment, repair if any and it cost me $4,000 to have all the plants,mulch and stones delivered, 2 1/2 hour drive each way
    were the job is, and the only nursery that could fill the entire order is in Tennesse, I am in Michigan, I did not add any mark up to the materials and plants, that is why I threw that 175 number up there, originally I had thought around $ 149,000

    If you're giving a warranty on the plants and the $44,211.00 is your cost, then I'd say your numbers are in the ballpark. Plus, did you try splitting the order between two different nurseries. I'm lucky enough that there are two right across the street from each other with almost identical quality. Just a thought
