looking for a stihl but have seen some bad reviews on them around here, what do yall reccomend?
stihl fc 90 and fs 90r. Run the right fuel/oil mix and youll be fine. Ive used them all, Redmax, Echo, Shiniawa, Tanaka, Dolmar, Husqvarana, Annd Maryuama, and the Stihl's work best for us.
you can use it as a trimmer and buy an edger attachment for it.
I hate Stihl trimmers, only because I hate the way they feel in my hands. I've always liked the feel of Echo.
Had the stihl, and echos. I only use the redmax now. Light and plenty of power.
Echo. Period. The newest trimmer we own is 11 years old. The oldest is 16. They last, and we haven't babied our trimmers either. The PE-266 edger has a lot of power, even at half throttle.
That is the One I should have got. My 224L is a trimmer only.
But I may get the 324LDX later on in the year as I need a pole pruner .

i love my stihl fs 70 and 90 trimmers and fc 90 edger. i kind of like the fs70 trimmer better than the 90, it spins faster and its lighter, the 90 is a hog to carry around on long days especially the edger. but i always get great performance out of all my stihls.
Any trimmer sold through a servicing dealer is good. It's all about maintenance...
