Is it best to just get the Stihl FS 90 R with the edger gearbox attachment? Currently on a tight buget, so I'm looking for best bang for the buck. Any help would be greatly appreciated (1st year in business so I'm still learning).

If you are meaning the straight edger and not the curved shaft attachment then yes. The edger and the fs 90 will last you a long time.

keep in mind the fS 90 and 90 r are different. the fS 90r has a flex shaft.

Which is better? I just liked the handle better on the FS 90 R.

the flex shaft is less durable than a solid shaft. if you dont need a heavy duty model go with the 90R you can always have the dealer change the handle for you if you want the solid shaft

All the letters at the end of the number mean is what kind of handle it has...nothing to do with the shaft.
I have gearboxes for the same machine and I really do not like it. You get dirt in the tube when you change boxes.

FS 90R is the normal handle, FS 90 is the bike handle.
