Looking for some help rewiring my trailer hook-up, the wires got pulled out of the 7-pin and I need to hook up a 4-pin. Truck is a Dodge ram 2500. Just need a little direction, ground, brake, turn signals.
    Thanks,
    Bill

Do you have a wire tester? You can use the inexpensive tester that looks like a screwdriver than has a light bulb inside of it with a ground wire coming off of it. Just ground the wire and press the needle in the wire and use a process of elimination to determine what the wires do.

What year is this truck and which model ?

I looked at diagrams for 4 different years and didn't see your color codes.

You can do as Kyle said with a test light but it takes two people, The larger blue wire would be for trailer brakes if I had to guess.

Also, If your truck has separate brake and turn signal lights you will most likely need a trailer light converter.

Why do you need 2 people? Did it by myself a couple months ago.

Does your vehicle have separate brake/turn lights ?

If so, What did you do prop something on the brake pedal ?

With the amount of wires on the rear it would be hard to push the brake pedal and see the light at the back of the truck.

    '00 dodge ram 2500 4x4 (I'm the 3rd owner)

tail light and turn sig. same light

I have done some of test light shuffle by myself and that's why I'm hoping someone may be familiar.

I also believe the blue is the brake.

    Any guesses on the ground?

    Thanks, Bill

I just used a chunk of fire wood and leaned it on the brake.
